Copyright
Submission of a manuscript implies: that the work described has not been published before (except in the form of an abstract or as part of a published lecture, review, or thesis); that it is not under consideration for publication elsewhere; that its publication has been approved by all coauthors, if any, as well as by the responsible authorities at the institute where the work has been carried out; that, if and when the manuscript is accepted for publication, the authors agree to publish under open access, the author(s) agree to publish the article under the Creative Commons Attribution License. that written permission of any copyrighted material from a copyright holder is obtained by the authors for material used from other copyrighted sources; and that any costs associated with obtaining this permission are the authors' responsibility.
Manuscript Length
Please note that there is a page limitation of 40 pages for submissions.
Preparation of Manuscripts
Authors must submit manuscripts and accompanying images, tables and photos online. This will allow for more efficient processing of your manuscript.

Manuscripts should be typewritten or prepared on a word processor, with all material double-spaced, on one side of letter-sized paper, with suitably wide margins. All pages should be numbered consecutively, beginning with page 1, the title page. Tables and figures should be numbered serially, and legends to illustrations should be prepared on separate sheets. Tables and figures will be placed near their first mention in the text; all tables and figures must be referred to in the manuscript.
Title Page: The following elements must be included:
Title of the article;
Name(s) and initial(s) of author(s), preferably with first names spelled out;
Affiliation(s) of author(s);
Footnotes to the contribution title;
Name, address, telephone and fax numbers, and e-mail address of the corresponding author.
Abstract: Each article is to be preceded by a succinct abstract, of up to 250 words, that highlights the objectives, methods, results, and conclusions of the paper.
Key Words: To identify the subjects under which the article may be indexed, 6-10 key words should be provided.
Declarations
All manuscripts must contain the following sections under the heading 'Declarations'.
If any of the sections are not relevant to your manuscript, please include the heading and write 'Not applicable' for that section.
To be used for all articles, including articles with biological applications
Funding(information that explains whether and by whom the research was supported)
Conflicts of interest/Competing interests (include appropriate disclosures)
Availability of data and material (data transparency)
Authors' contributions
Additional declarations for articles in life science journals that report the results of studies involving humans and/or animals
Ethics approval (include appropriate approvals or waivers)
Consent to participate (include appropriate statements)
Consent for publication (include appropriate statements)
Acknowledgments
Acknowledgments of people, grants, funds, etc. should be placed in a separate section on the title page. The names of funding organizations should be written in full.
References
References: In the text, references to the literature should be by author and year; where there are two authors, both should be named; with three or more only the first author's name plus "et al." need be given. The list at the end of the paper should include only works mentioned in the text and should be arranged alphabetically by name of first author. References should be cited as follows:
Journal papers -- name(s) and initial(s) of author(s), year in brackets, full title, name of the journal as abbreviated in Chemical Abstracts, volume number, first and last page numbers:
Books -- name(s) of author(s), year in brackets, full title, edition, publishers, place of publication, page number:
Responsibility for the accuracy of bibliographic references rests entirely with the author.
Those in the text should be numbered consecutively.
Illustrations: These should be suitable for reproduction and should clarify or shorten the text. Information provided in figure legends should not be repeated in the text. Figures and graphs should always be mentioned in the text and numbered with Arabic numerals.
Upload illustrations separately from the text (i.e. files should not be integrated with the text files).
Appendices and Supplementary Material
Authors who wish to publish electronic supplementary material to their article (Excel files, images, audio/video files) should upload these materials, with the appropriate designation, to the Manuscript Submission website along with the rest of their submission.
Ethical Responsibilities of Authors
No data, text, or theories by others are presented as if they were the author’s own (‘plagiarism’). Proper acknowledgements to other works must be given (this includes material that is closely copied (near verbatim), summarized and/or paraphrased), quotation marks (to indicate words taken from another source) are used for verbatim copying of material, and permissions secured for material that is copyrighted.
Important note: the journal may use software to screen for plagiarism.
Confidentiality
Authors should treat all communication with the Journal as confidential which includes correspondence with direct representatives from the Journal such as Editors-in-Chief and/or Handling Editors and reviewers’ reports unless explicit consent has been received to share information.

Open Access
Open Access allows you to publish open access NYHAI journals, making your research more visible and accessible immediately on publication.
Article processing charges (APCs) apply. (See fees below in the Fees section)

Higher visibility and impact: Open Access articles are accessed 4 times more often on average and cited 1.7 more times on average.
Easy compliance with funder and institutional mandates: Many funders require open access publishing, and some take compliance into account when assessing future grant applications.
Copyright and license term – CC BY
Open Choice articles do not require transfer of copyright as the copyright remains with the author. In opting for open access, the author(s) agree to publish the article under the Creative Commons Attribution License.
Fees:
Submission Fee: $50 for members and $90 for non-members (Covers the cost for peer review of the manuscript. If revisions are deemed to be needed there is no added fee for resubmission)
Publication Fee: $250 for members and $550 for non-members (You will receive a separate invoice for the publication fee upon approval of your manuscript)
Use the templates below for submitting your manuscript. You may make changes as needed to the template if necessary. Submit the file as a word document. Attach all pictures, charts and graphs separately. If you have a manuscript already prepared, you may submit it as is, we will format it.
